JOB TITLE: Director, Partnerships - Gaming

Your Mission:
The Partnerships Director will report to the Senior Vice President, Partnerships and act as an integral member of the Partnerships account team, with an emphasis in the video game space. We are seeking someone who brings a can-do attitude, thrives when tackling challenges, and is truly passionate about the gaming industry. Candidate should be proactive, organized, and highly self-motivated. In the role, they will be expected to manage the day-to-day functions on at least two major client accounts. The role’s main responsibility will be to identify, secure, and execute impactful and strategic brand partnerships in support of client IP/initiatives. The most significant KPIs include the securing of: ATL media, high value EMV campaigns, campaigns with multi-territory crossover, and where applicable, placement/integration fees.
As a Director, you may be required to provide mentorship and oversight of other staff members that support the account. While the Director may have an active VP or SVP assisting on the account (dependent upon the account and the breadth of responsibilities/work product), the Director should be able to effectively manage the account without significant day-to-day managerial input. In this role, your influence will extend beyond routine account management; you will be shaping the strategic interactions that define our client relationships and setting standards for industry excellence.
As part of a senior position on the Partnerships team, the Director will also play a proactive role in new business development and overall administrative support for the larger team. This may include but is not limited to proactively identifying potential new business opportunities (as appropriate and always with pre-approval of the SVP), assisting in pitches to secure new business (from brainstorm to deck/proposal development and in-person pitches), and participation in larger administrative functions (e.g., event planning, strategy sessions, misc. tasks).
Of course, across all projects, the Director shall focus on excellence of work product, from the smallest details (spelling, grammar, consistency, etc.) to larger, big picture thinking, particularly as they juggle competing priorities.
The Director should take pride in understanding their account(s) intimately, but also the company’s larger strategy and capabilities, with a grasp on all Partnerships clients. Their ultimate goal should be in delivering knock-out results to the benefit of the clients, company, partners, and fans. The candidate will have skills in pitching, presentations, creative and other abilities pertinent to the field.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic Account Oversight: Serve as the primary relationship manager (either account wide or territory specific) for client account(s), demonstrating proactive leadership in all client dealings. Ensure not only the satisfaction but also the engagement and long-term loyalty of our clients by anticipating their needs and exceeding their expectations. Proactive problem solving and strong goal setting is key to the role.
- Material Development and Oversight: Lead the creation, updating, and maintenance of client and partner-facing materials such as LOIs/term sheets, status reports, and marketing calendars/workback timelines. Ensure the highest quality of content and timely delivery of partnership recap reports. Entrust routine updates to junior team members while focusing on strategic enhancements.
- Advanced Presentation Crafting: Design and develop compelling pitch decks that incorporate innovative concepts and detailed market insights, showcasing advanced proficiency in the business of partnerships. Mentor team members in enhancing their presentation skills.
- Brand Partnership Negotiation: The Director should expect to independently lead complex negotiations and high-stakes meetings with potential brand partners and ultimately deliver high-value deals.
- Outreach and Network Enhancement: Oversee the compilation of contact details for promotional pitch lists and strategize outreach initiatives. Drive the adoption of more sophisticated outreach techniques such as strategic networking.
- Market Research Leadership: Lead the research initiative on potential partners and up-to-date industry trends. Encourage innovative thinking and a proactive approach in creative team brainstorms to unveil new brand opportunities and partnership potentials.
- Business Development: Elevate Partnerships’ business development in N. America by collaboratively working with the Managing Director to expand our client portfolio.
- Cultural and Leadership Contributions: Act as a cultural champion within the team by modeling behaviors that reflect the company’s core values and promote a high-performance environment. Mentor team members, guiding them to solutions and encouraging development through your experienced insight into overcoming business challenges.
- Team Engagement and Development: Play a critical role in daily team activities, offering expert solutions to challenges and promoting a learning environment. Encourage team members to bring new ideas and perspectives while providing them constructive feedback and developmental support.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum 6 years Partnerships experience.
- Proven experience in account management, with a track record of growing client relationships and supervising successful business partnerships.
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, with the capacity to take initiative and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in leading meetings and crafting persuasive presentations and reports.
- High competency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites and familiarity with other business intelligence tools.
- Experience in mentoring and leading teams, with a strong focus on nurturing talent and enhancing team performance.
