Job Summary:
The Financial Controlling Lead will oversee all financial controlling activities within the organization, ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of the group. This role includes leading a team responsible for budgeting, variance analysis, and the management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, loans, and employee cash advances. Additionally, the Financial Controlling Lead will implement robust financial controls, support automation initiatives, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Budget Preparation and Management
• Coordinate the preparation of budgets for all projects within the group, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Collaborate with department heads and project managers to gather inputs for budgeting.
• Establish processes for budget approval, tracking, and updates.
2. Variance Analysis and Reporting
• Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budgets and forecasts.
• Investigate and explain discrepancies, providing actionable recommendations to management.
• Prepare and present detailed financial reports for senior management.
3. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Oversight
• Monitor and control the accounts payable (AP) process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of obligations.
• Oversee the accounts receivable (AR) process, ensuring proper invoicing, timely collections, and adherence to credit policies.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for AP and AR to improve efficiency and minimize risks.
4. Loan Portfolio Management
• Manage and monitor the group’s loans receivable and loans payable portfolio.
• Ensure timely servicing of loans payable (interest and principal payments).
• Track repayment schedules for loans receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
• Support decision-making for new loans, refinancing, or restructuring.
5. Employee Cash Advances
• Oversee the process for issuing and controlling cash advances to employees.
• Ensure proper documentation, timely reconciliation, and recovery of advances.
• Implement controls to prevent misuse or delays in reconciliation.
6. Financial Controls and Compliance
• Develop and maintain internal financial control systems to ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Conduct regular reviews of financial processes to identify risks and implement improvements.
7. Team Leadership and Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop the financial controlling team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet organizational and project needs.
• Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Certification
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification (preferred).
Experience
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial controlling, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience with budgeting, variance analysis, and cash flow management.
• Familiarity with managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and loan portfolios.
Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
Languages
• English - Intermediate; additional language skills (e.g., Russian, Ukrainian) are an advantage.
