Job Title: Lead Project Manager – Government SaaS Implementation
Location: Remote with regular onsite travel in Virginia
Type: Full-Time or Contract
Reports To: CEO
Role Summary
The Lead Project Manager owns the overall success of assigned Salesforce-based government implementations. This customer-facing role drives milestone delivery, formal acceptance, and SOW adherence while overseeing internal alignment with support staff and development teams. The Lead PM ensures documentation, approvals, and stakeholder readiness are in place at every phase.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary customer-facing lead across all project phases
Own and enforce the milestone delivery schedule and ensure formal sign-off
Lead stakeholder meetings, steering committees, sprint demos, and cutover sessions
Drive change order conversations and prevent scope creep
Manage all formal project escalations, blockers, and risk registers
Coordinate with internal Support PM, developers, QA, and SMEs to align delivery
Ensure customer-side readiness (docs, approvals, staffing) for each milestone
Maintain structured Box documentation and lead cutover/go-live planning
Conduct onsite milestone reviews and relationship-building visits
Qualifications
5+ years project management experience (SaaS or Salesforce preferred)
Proven success with milestone-based, fixed-fee government implementations
Experience managing multi-department public-sector projects
Familiarity with Agile methods and Jira/Monday.com workflows
Excellent written/verbal communication and executive presence
PMP or comparable certification preferred
Willingness to travel onsite as needed throughout the project lifecycle, including milestone reviews, UAT coordination, go-live support, and stakeholder alignment meetings. Travel requirements may exceed 1–2 days per month during critical project phases
Comfortable enforcing SOW scope and managing milestone sign-off
Ability to distinguish between support issues, enhancements, and defects
