Mid-level

Job description

As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You’ll take ownership of test planning and execution, contribute to the evolution of our QA practices, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features. In addition to deep exploratory and manual testing, you’ll actively contribute to and maintain automation efforts, while mentoring junior team members and helping to raise the overall quality bar.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading exploratory testing for complex features and modules, identifying edge cases and real-world user scenarios.
  • Designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test cases (manual and automated) to validate functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Documenting and reporting bugs clearly with complete reproduction steps, logs, and relevant artifacts.
  • Driving collaboration with product managers, developers, and QA peers during sprint planning, story grooming, and product reviews.
  • Contribute to enhancing and maintaining test automation for regression and smoke scenarios using tools such as Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright.
  • Participating in and contributing to test planning, risk assessments, and release validation strategies.
  • Taking initiative in improving QA processes, tools, and standards to boost test effectiveness and team efficiency.
  • Using browser developer tools, Postman, and proxies for validating APIs, network calls, and backend integration.
  • Supporting testing across multiple environments (development, staging, production).
  • Mentoring junior QA engineers, providing guidance on test design, defect reporting, and QA best practices.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Proactive and outcome-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • A sharp problem-solver with critical thinking skills.
  • Able to thrive under pressure and prioritize effectively.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • An effective communicator and collaborator across technical and non-technical teams.

Technical Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in software testing, with a strong background in exploratory and manual testing and growing automation skills.
  • Deep understanding of QA principles, test case design strategies, and defect lifecycle management.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright.
  • Solid grasp of REST API testing and backend validation using tools like Postman or similar.
  • Strong analytical thinking and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in browser dev tools and debugging client-server interactions.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and participating in full SDLC activities.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Developing proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python).
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Xray) and issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Exposure to usability, accessibility, or performance testing.
  • Experience in mentoring junior testers or leading small QA efforts.
