The Service Manager will oversee the daily operations of the service department in a commercial truck dealership. This role ensures that all repairs and maintenance services are performed efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards. The Service Manager supervises the workshop team, ensures customer satisfaction, maintains productivity and profitability, and aligns service operations with manufacturer guidelines and local regulations
Duties and Responsibilities:
Workshop Operations Management:
· Supervise service technicians, advisors, and workshop staff.
· Ensure timely diagnosis, repair, and delivery of vehicles.
· Implement safety standards and cleanliness in the workshop.
Customer Service and Satisfaction:
· Manage and resolve customer complaints and technical issues.
· Ensure transparency in repair recommendations and cost estimates.
· Promote preventive maintenance and long-term service packages to customers.
Team Supervision and Training:
· Hire, train, and evaluate service team members.
· Conduct regular technical training and skills development sessions.
· Lead team meetings and promote a culture of accountability and customer focus.
Service Scheduling and Workflow:
· Organize service appointments and workshop loading for maximum efficiency.
· Monitor turnaround times and technician performance.
· Ensure proper documentation of work orders and service records.
Parts and Coordination:
· Coordinate with the parts department for availability of necessary components.
· Ensure proper use of genuine spare parts and warranty procedures.
Compliance and Reporting:
· Maintain compliance with service protocols with JMC Philippines on service process and warranty procedures.
· Maintain compliance with OEM service protocols and Philippine regulatory requirements (e.g., LTO, DOTr).
· Prepare regular reports on department KPIs (e.g., productivity, CSI scores, warranty claims).
Profitability and Cost Control:
· Monitor service revenue, labor sales, and operational costs.
· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
· Operational Efficiency.
· Business and Financial Performance.
· Customer Satisfaction and retention rates.
· Compliance and Process Quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in automotive technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or relevant vocational diploma).
- At least 5 years of experience in a truck or heavy vehicle service department, with 2+ years in a managerial role.
- Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, suspension, transmission, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with dealership service systems (e.g., repair order systems, diagnostic tools).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills in English and Filipino.
- Ability to lead, motivate a team under pressure and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with brands such as Isuzu, Hino, Fuso and Foton
- OEM training or certification in commercial vehicle service.
- Understanding of fleet servicing requirements and preventive maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of warranty claim procedures and documentation.
