Summary
The job is for a Software Engineering Manager focusing on build systems, compilers, and languages at EngFlow, a SaaS company. The role involves leading core engineers, contributing to open source projects, and developing platform features. The position reports into the Head of Product Engineering and requires a balance between management and individual contributions.
Requirements

- Passion for optimization and analyzing complex challenges and intricate details of various compilers and programming languages
- Deep expertise with at least one build system: Bazel, CMake, Maven, Gradle, Nix, Buck, others
- Experience with and passion for DevOps and DevInfra
- Experience in Linux and the Unix shell
- Experience with at least one Cloud infrastructure: AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenShift, Oracle Cloud. Terraform experience is a plus
- Programming proficiency with Java (C++, Rust, others welcome in addition)
- Asynchronous programming experience
- Experience delivering software at scale and maintaining operations excellence
- Experience managing multiple technical projects at once with tight deadlines
- Previous hands-on management experience (remote team management experience is a plus)
- Conflict resolution skills and experience
Responsibilities
Lead core engineers who built Bazel, contribute to Bazel, gRPC, Goma, Soong, CMake and other open source projects, and develop core features of our platform
