Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our internal finance team remotely. This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations for at least three portfolio companies simultaneously. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, experience across multiple industries, and familiarity with NetSuite ERP.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain full-cycle accounting for multiple portfolio companies (manufacturing, distribution, and real estate).
· Record journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Manage AP/AR, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
· Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
· Support audits and tax preparation processes in coordination with external auditors and tax advisors.
· Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
· Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
· Utilize NetSuite to process and manage financial data across client entities.
· Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or progress toward CPA preferred).
· Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-client or multi-entity environment.
· Preferably with experience in construction pay applications and bank draws.
· Real estate experience is a must.
· Industry experience in manufacturing and distribution strongly preferred.
· Proficiency with NetSuite ERP required.
· Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
· Experience working in a private equity or investment firm environment.
· Familiarity with consolidations and intercompany transactions.
· Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
