About Abacus Works

We are the core developer team for Hyperlane, an open framework for blockchain interoperability.

Hyperlane provides developers with tools to connect various blockchain networks and build applications that securely communicate across multiple chains. It supports bridging, asset issuance, swaps, and general message passing across over 130 blockchains and 7 Virtual Machines (VMs), including EVM, Solana VM, and Cosmos SDK. Our framework offers ready-to-use infrastructure for transmitting any data type, enabling omnichain messaging for functions like multi-step cross-chain swap routing, multichain asset issuance, and cross-chain governance.

Hyperlane is an open-source and permissionless protocol, letting developers deploy solutions instantly without requiring approval from a core team or governance body. Our “Hyperlane-as-a-Service” helps with standard interoperability implementations such as bridges and multichain issuance, typically bringing projects live within a week. The protocol’s architecture is modular, extensible, and upgradable, allowing for customizable security models and hooks to optimize performance and user experience.

To date, Hyperlane has processed over $10 billion in bridged value and securely validates more than 10,000 cross-chain asset transfer messages daily. For example, Renzo uses Hyperlane Warp Assets (HWA) to issue multichain ezETH, allowing it to move across EVM and Solana VM environments. Aerodrome uses Hyperlane’s Interchain Accounts and Hyperlane Warp Routes (HWR) for MEV-resistant cross-chain swaps, and Hyperlane General Message Passing (GMP) for cross-chain voting. Stakers, relayers, and validators can participate in the protocol’s operations and economic security by earning HYPER emissions or fees.
