Description of Task to be Performed:
AnaVation is seeking a REMOTE Senior Cloud Platform Engineer with deep experience in Azure, AKS, IaC, and SRE practices. You will build, deploy, and operate a cloud-native platform that processes and analyzes digital evidence for legal investigations. Our environment is highly containerized, fully automated, and built around Azure services, AKS, Terraform/Terragrunt, and GitOps workflows.
US Citizenship with a Public Trust, Secret, or Top Secret clearance and experience supporting the Federal Government is REQUIRED.
What you will be doing
- Operate and optimize AKS: upgrades, scaling, node pools, troubleshooting.
- Build and manage IaC with Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Implement GitOps with Argo CD and GitHub workflows.
- Deploy and maintain containerized workloads using Docker, Helm, Kustomize.
- Manage Azure networking, identity, and security (VNets, Private Link, RBAC, Key Vault).
- Run Azure data services: PostgreSQL Flexible Server, Service Bus, Redis, AI Search, Storage, ACR.
- Own reliability: monitoring, alerting, KQL dashboards, incident response, performance tuning.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications (Education/Certications, Experience, etc):
- Bachelors Degree in a relevant field
- Five (5) years of hands-on experience cloud platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles
- Experience supporting large, distributed systems within the Federal Government
Clearance:
- Minimum Public Trust; US Citizenship and ability to maintain a High Risk Public Trust designation is required
Other Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Deep hands-on experience with Azure, AKS, and Kubernetes operations. (AWS experience may be considered in lieu of Azure.)
- Deep hands-on experience with containerization technologies: Docker, Helm, Kustomize.
- Deep hands-on experience with Terraform, Terragrunt, and modular IaC.
- Strong GitOps experience with Argo CD and GitHub workflows.
- Strong experience in platform observability tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics/KQL).
- Self-motivation and self-sufficiency requiring minimal guidance to achieve technical objectives.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with diverse technical teams.
- Continuous alignment with and adherence to AnaVation’s core values.
Location/Hours:
- This position is fully remote and can be performed from anywhere within the continental United States.
- Regardless of location, this position requires full-time support during core Eastern Time business hours to align with our Government customer in Washington, DC.
- This position may require support outside of core business hours for outages, updates/upgrades, and other needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Azure Government and/or AWS GovCloud/C2S/SC2S
- Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
- Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Administrator, and/or Developer)
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS)
- IaC/DevOps certifications (Hashicorp/Terraform)
- AWS certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, Developer, and/or SysOps Administrator)
- Familiarity with cloud cost optimization strategies
$85,678.38 - $200,993.63 a year
Please note: The listed salary range reflects our market-based compensation structure. Final compensation will depend on business needs, local market conditions, internal equity, and the selected candidate’s skills, education, and experience.
