Job description
The Publication Development Intern help build and refine a new print offering currently in development. This role involves foundational work including theological research, writing, and assisting in the structural editing of upcoming features.
You will thrive in this role if you make independent, intelligent decisions, produce excellent work on a routine basis, come up with creative, correct solutions to new problems, and have the conscientiousness to carry it all out.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform theological research to support thematic development and verify factual accuracy
- Assist in the developmental editing and proofreading of articles and long-form content.
- Draft original written content
- Collaborate with the internal team and Catholic creators to ensure brand consistency and mission alignment.
- Other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Open to all majors
- Critical reading skills and exceptional writing and research skills are essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and meet tight deadlines.
- A general understanding of Catholic beliefs and practices, including a familiarity with traditional and contemporary Catholic theological terms
- Ability to distinguish between sound and unsound theological writings
- General familiarity with a wide array of theological authors and writings is a plus
- Intimate familiarity with Liturgy of the Hours is a plus
