About This Role
Axsome Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Manager, Patient Advocacy to drive communications and engagement with patient advocacy organizations and other external stakeholders. This role will build new and expand existing partnerships, foster collaboration, and identify future areas of mutual interest to improve the lives of patients and caregivers impacted by CNS conditions.
This role is based atAxsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Create and implement strategic plans for patient advocacy and stakeholder engagement
Serve as the primary point of accountability to develop long-term, trusting relationships with patient advocacy community
Collaborate with corporate communications, marketing, market access, medical affairs, and clinical operations on opportunities to engage patients and advocates on key priorities
Support launch readiness and post-marketing insight gathering to ensure positive patient experience
Represent company at advocate events, scientific congresses, and patient meetings
Develop and manage budget for patient advocacy sponsorships and partnership opportunities
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required and minimum of 7 years of experience with patient advocacy groups in a relevant pharmaceutical, non-profit, or consulting setting
Proven track record in managing relationships and influencing key stakeholders
Strong working knowledge of pharmaceutical environment is required
Ability to work onsite Mondays, Tuesday, and Thursdays
Experience and Knowledge
Experience forming partnerships with patient advocacy organizations and other external stakeholders
Experience with CNS or other chronic conditions
Excellent written and communication skills
Experience in health policy or government affairs preferred
Comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and able to adjust based on changing priorities
Willingness to travel as needed, up to 25%
Salary & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location.
