Big Brothers Big Sisters of America

We were founded in 1904 as a non-profit organization. We specialize in creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships for young people. We work with parents, guardians, volunteers, and community members to achieve our mission.

Our programs help children build confidence, develop higher aspirations, and improve their relationships. They also work to prevent risky behaviors and promote educational success. Our internal data shows that young people in our programs are 20% more likely to enroll in college and earn 15% more over their lifetime. We also believe our programs help close two-thirds of the economic gap.

We engage the public by recruiting mentors (Bigs), accepting donations, maintaining an alumni network, and forming partnerships. Recently, we’ve been featured on The Daily Show, participated in a Nasdaq bell-ringing ceremony, and collaborated with companies like Macy’s, Gillette, and Dove.

We have 51-200 employees. Many roles, including Partnerships Coordinator and Vice President of Programs, are remote across the continental United States.

We have a team of 51-200 employees. Many of us work remotely from anywhere in the continental United States, though some roles prefer specific time zones like EST or CST.

We strive to build a capable and cohesive team with clear accountability, especially within our program and impact teams.
