We provide infectious disease intelligence to public and private organizations. We use AI and human expertise to monitor over 190 diseases globally for outbreaks, to help organizations identify threats, anticipate future developments, and respond. Our services rapidly detect emerging threats, help understand population risks, and support timely actions to prevent health, economic, and social disruption. We offer outbreak alerts, structured data, forecasting models, and expert risk assessments.

We serve public health (governments, national security), pharma and life sciences (for vaccine, therapeutic, and diagnostic needs), and global enterprise clients (to protect people, operations, supply chains, and reputation). BlueDot was founded in 2013 by Dr. Kamran Khan after the 2003 SARS outbreak. Its origins trace back to the 2008 BioDiaspora scientific research program, which studied global population connectivity through commercial air travel. It was renamed BlueDot in 2014, became a Data as a Service (DaaS) organization in 2022, and launched its Global Disease Surveillance engine 3.0, which uses Large Language Models, in 2023.

We have a track record of predicting global outbreaks. We accurately predicted the global spread of Ebola in 2014 and a local Zika outbreak in Florida six months in advance in 2016. We alerted clients to the COVID-19 threat five days before the World Health Organization in 2019. In 2020, we published one of the first peer-reviewed studies on COVID-19. In 2022, we inferred the true burden of mpox disease in West Africa. In 2024, we published a peer-reviewed study on the spread of oropouche virus. Our intelligence solutions protect over 840 million people worldwide. Our team has led or co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications. Users reportedly save over three months annually because of our curated alerts.
