About California Primary Care Association
We formed in 1994 to represent over 1,380 not-for-profit Community Health Centers (CHCs) and Regional Clinic Associations throughout California. Our member organizations provide health care services, especially for low-income, uninsured, and underserved Californians. Our diverse membership includes community and free clinics, federally funded clinics, rural and urban clinics, and those serving special needs and populations.
As the state primary care association designated by the Federal Bureau of Primary Health Care, we receive federal program support to help our member health centers grow and improve their services. We focus on health center operations, advocacy, policy, and training. This includes supporting Health Center Controlled Networks and improving data and quality strategies through analytics, interoperability, and modernization initiatives.
We also develop an AI strategy for health centers, covering governance, training, readiness assessments, and integration into their daily clinical and operational work. We offer strategic guidance and technical expertise to enhance clinical quality, population health, and value-based payment models. We lead statewide initiatives and act as experts on federal and state quality programs.
We analyze quality performance data, create managed care and Medicare strategies, and represent health centers in legislative, regulatory, and advocacy efforts. Our operations include managing daily, monthly, and annual accounting, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, audits, and budget development, monitoring, and analysis across our departments, grants, and projects.
