About Cartwheel

Founded in 2022, we are a mental health care company that partners with K-12 school districts. We provide mental health care for students and help schools build stronger mental health programs. Our services include therapy, psychiatry, telehealth, medication management, care coordination, case management, parent training, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), family therapy, and group therapy. We also collaborate with school staff for intervention and coordination, and we offer professional development. Some of our partner districts include Boston Public Schools, Schenectady City School District, Peoria Public Schools, and Downingtown Area School District.

We prioritize quick access to care. It typically takes 24 hours from a school referral to a family’s first talk with a bilingual Care Coordinator. The first virtual appointment with a licensed clinician usually happens within 7 days. During this time, we assess student needs, meet parents, and create a treatment plan. Care usually lasts two to six months, and 92% of students say they feel better after working with us.

We also handle health plan enrollment, manage our network of contracted clinicians, and oversee revenue cycle management. Additionally, we work with state governments to develop strategy, secure funding, and expand partnerships.

Mission & Values

We believe children should experience joy and have the chance to build a life they’re excited to live. Our goal is to help the next generation achieve this.

We address challenges within the mental health system—like long waitlists, high costs, confusing processes, and outdated technology—by partnering with schools to provide accessible care.

Team & Culture

We employ between 201-500 people. Our work environment is remote-first and flexible, with regular in-person retreats. Our culture is mission-oriented and inclusive, where colleagues support each other. Leadership focuses on creating safe spaces for people to share thoughts and feelings, and providing support systems for students to express themselves authentically.

Benefits & Perks

We offer competitive cash compensation, including a base salary and performance-based bonuses, along with a meaningful equity ownership stake. We provide generous PPO medical, vision, dental/ortho coverage, and life insurance.

Our paid time off includes generous PTO, company closure from December 25 to January 1, paid holidays, sick leave, and paid parental leave. We provide a 401K with an employer match, an annual learning stipend, and a company-provided laptop. Roles are remote with regular in-person retreats.
