Clearstory

We were founded in 2018 as Extracker and now operate as Clearstory. Our cloud-based software helps the construction industry manage change orders. We provide communication and workflow tools for general contractors, specialty contractors, and owners, helping them get changes approved faster, improve forecasting, and reduce unexpected costs.

Our software includes a live, shareable Change Order Log for real-time updates, and a T&M Mobile App to document field work with photos and signatures. It also has Change Notifications for assigning scopes and tracking pricing, Real-Time Allowances to tag change orders to budget categories, and Analytics & Reporting dashboards to see project health, aging, and exposure. We integrate with various ERP and project management systems, including Procore, Sage, CMiC, HCSS, Vista, and Egnyte, to sync cost data and forecasts.

Over 14,000 contractors use our platform, processing more than $2.1 billion in change orders monthly. Users report saving over 7 hours per person weekly. We support field-directed time-and-materials work, owner-driven design changes, and subcontractor-initiated change orders.

We have between 51-200 employees. Our headquarters are in Walnut Creek, CA, and we support both hybrid and fully remote roles.
