We are looking for an Assistant to the Lead of External Accounting to become a key member of our External Accounting team.
This is not a traditional accounting position. We are looking for someone with a strong accounting background, an IT mindset, and a passion for using Artificial Intelligence to solve complex accounting challenges.
You will work directly with the Lead of External Accounting to build, automate, and continuously improve the company’s crypto accounting processes. Rather than maintaining an existing system, you will help design new methodologies, investigate complex accounting scenarios, and implement AI-driven solutions that significantly reduce manual work.
Previous crypto accounting experience is welcome but not required. We value strong accounting expertise, technical curiosity, and the ability to independently research new topics and develop practical solutions.
Who You Are
You are not expected to already know every aspect of crypto accounting.
Instead, you are someone who has:
a strong foundation as a Chief Accountant or senior accounting professional;
an IT background or strong technical aptitude;
excellent analytical and research skills;
curiosity and a willingness to learn new business models and technologies;
the ability to leverage AI to solve accounting problems and automate repetitive work.
You enjoy investigating complex financial data, connecting information from multiple sources, and building efficient, scalable processes instead of relying on manual accounting routines.
What Success Looks Like
Working together with the Lead of External Accounting, you will help build an AI-driven crypto accounting function capable of:
transforming bank, exchange, wallet, and blockchain data into accurate accounting records;
automating accounting entries and reconciliation processes;
investigating and eliminating clearing account balances;
creating reliable, audit-ready accounting records with minimal manual intervention;
continuously improving accounting efficiency through AI and automation.
This role is ideal for an accounting professional who wants to be at the intersection of Finance, Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Crypto and help shape the future of accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Work directly with the Lead of External Accounting on developing and improving the company’s crypto accounting framework.
Build accounting processes for cryptocurrency operations using AI-powered solutions.
Design and optimize accounting workflows using ChatGPT, Codex, GPT + Cloud platforms, and other AI tools.
Process and reconcile financial data from multiple sources, including:
Bank statements
Cryptocurrency exchanges
Crypto wallets
Blockchain transaction exports
Internal transaction files
Transform raw financial and transactional data into complete accounting records.
Investigate accounting discrepancies and identify missing or inconsistent transactions.
Research, analyze, and resolve balances in clearing accounts.
Develop reconciliation methodologies for fiat and crypto transactions.
Continuously improve accounting efficiency through automation and AI.
Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Product, and Data teams to improve accounting processes and data quality.
Required Qualifications
Higher education in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Previous experience as a Chief Accountant, Deputy Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, or Financial Controller.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
An IT-oriented mindset with the ability to understand systems, data structures, and automation.
Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Codex, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies in day-to-day work.
Strong analytical and investigative skills.
Ability to independently research unfamiliar accounting topics and develop practical solutions.
Advanced Excel skills.
SQL is required; Python is considered a strong advantage.
Nice to Have
Experience with cryptocurrency, fintech, or payment businesses.
Understanding of blockchain technology and crypto transaction flows.
Experience with ERP systems and accounting integrations.
Experience with APIs, cloud technologies, or automation platforms.
This role includes completing a practical case study to evaluate your accounting expertise, analytical thinking, problem-solving approach and ability to use AI tools effectively.
