Job Description

Come shape the future of education with us.

At Compass, we’re on a mission to transform the school day for everyone - from staff and students to families and administrators. We build smart, seamless technology that empowers schools to focus on what really matters: learning, growing and thriving.

That mission has fuelled our growth into a global scale-up, now supporting 5,000+ schools across three countries, backed by a team of 300+ people. Our all-in-one school management platform is redefining how education communities connect, communicate and operate.

We’re looking for an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Events Coordinator to join our Sydney team. If you love bringing people together through well-run events and take pride in making sure every detail is taken care of, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role & Team

Reporting to our Head of Marketing, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end coordination and delivery of Compass-hosted events, and our participation in major industry conferences and exhibitions.

This role is ideal for someone early in their marketing or events career who wants hands-on experience coordinating logistics, managing vendors and supporting campaigns that directly contribute to business growth - while also keeping the team’s day-to-day marketing operations running smoothly.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Customer Success and the wider marketing team across Australia, the UK and Ireland to ensure every event runs smoothly and delivers a memorable experience for schools.

What you’ll do:

Event Coordination

  • Maintain a calendar of industry events for the Australian market and keep it up to date in our shared global events calendar, co-owned with the UK&IE Events Coordinator, while helping identify relevant exhibition and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Coordinate Compass’ participation in third-party events, including exhibitor portal submissions and coordinating with contractors to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain project management tools and create clear event briefs and run sheets to support on-site teams at external industry gatherings.
  • Coordinate the logistics for Compass-hosted events, including venue sourcing, catering, audiovisual needs, invitations and registrations.
  • Liaise with speakers, presenters and vendors to ensure flawless event execution, and support event set-up and pack-down.
  • Deliver marketing commitments linked to our partnership and conference agreements, and support event promotion and follow-up campaigns to maximise engagement.

Post-Event Reporting & Lead Management

  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure event information is accurately recorded and promptly updated in Monday.com.
  • Track event metrics including registrations, attendance and pipeline, ensuring post-event reports are completed within the designated timelines.
  • Manage event leads in Zoho - entering lead details, checking whether a lead already exists, and ensuring it sits with the right person to follow up, so leads are tracked promptly to support ROI reporting.

Admin, Merch & Office Support

  • Maintain and organise marketing assets and materials in Google Drive and Zoho WorkDrive.
  • Keep an updated inventory of merchandise and promotional materials, ensuring they are fresh and relevant for upcoming events.
  • Coordinate with suppliers in Australia and internationally for event merchandise and promotional materials.
  • Pick, pack and dispatch collateral and merchandise - preparing and sending boxes to our interstate offices and events around the country.
  • Coordinate and order business cards for the team.

Finance & Marketing Support

  • Manage the marketing team expenses card, adding transactions to ProSpend and uploading invoices.
  • Consolidate and allocate marketing expenses to the right team (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Customer Success), and assist in monitoring event and campaign expenditure.
  • Support CRM list management while ensuring ongoing data hygiene, and maintain marketing project trackers.
  • Collaborate with the global marketing team on collaborative projects and create simple campaign assets (like social media graphics and email headers) using Canva as needed.
  • Act as the primary liaison for internal marketing inquiries, effectively triaging as needed.

About You

You’re organised, proactive and highly detail-oriented. You enjoy bringing people together through well-run events and take pride in making sure every detail is taken care of.

You’ll bring:

  • 2+ years’ experience in events, marketing or a related field, ideally within the EdTech (education technology) sector.
  • Strong technical confidence, with experience using tools such as Monday.com, Canva and CRM platforms (preferably Zoho or HubSpot), along with email marketing programs and a willingness to use AI tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking capability, managing multiple projects, deadlines and event logistics simultaneously.
  • A proactive and structured approach to work, with the ability to anticipate needs and keep projects moving.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality work.
  • A positive, collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong initiative and ownership, with the confidence to plan ahead and solve problems as they arise.

What’s in it for you?

You’ll join a collaborative, fast-paced team doing work that genuinely improves the school day for thousands of students and educators - with real ownership, variety, and the chance to grow your marketing and events career.

What we offer:

  • A hybrid working environment, with teams spending three days a week in person at our office hubs.
  • Learning and development opportunities, including a dedicated PD budget.
  • 247 access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), including face-to-face, phone and live chat support.
  • A parental leave program for both primary and secondary carers.
  • A supportive, inclusive culture where your voice is valued and heard.
  • The chance to grow alongside a fast-moving, ambitious organisation.

Compass is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We embrace and celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Prior to commencing employment, you’ll need:

  • A valid Employee Working With Children Check
  • A satisfactory National Police Check
  • Verification of unrestricted work rights in Australia (e.g. citizenship, passport or birth certificate)
  • A valid Australian Drivers License

Ready to make a difference?

If you’re excited about coordinating events that create meaningful connections across the education community, we’d love to hear from you.
