About Tutored by Teachers
We are a public benefit company founded in 2020, operating in the e-learning space to serve high-need K-12 students. We provide personalized virtual instruction to help students catch up and get ahead.
We provide virtual small group intervention and instruction delivered by experienced, U.S.-credentialed teachers. Our services include:
- Virtual Intervention: targeted, high-intensity tutoring in Math and ELA, aligned with academic standards.
- Tutoring For All: flexible instructional hours for general support.
- Summer Academy: a 20-day summer program for K-8 Math and ELA.
- Vacancy Support: certified teachers to fill school vacancies.
Our programs are eligible for funding through the Learning Recovery Act, CARES Act, Title I, and Title III. Our instructional model is live, video-based, and delivered synchronously in small groups. Students work with the same standards-aligned teacher throughout the term.

We are a team of 11-50 employees and are fully remote, though some roles may involve travel. We foster a mission-driven culture, emphasizing collaboration and a commitment to making a meaningful impact on students’ lives and advancing educational equity.
Our teacher-tutor community includes over 6,800 U.S.-credentialed teachers. Among them, 62% have graduate degrees, 48% are SPED or ELL certified, and they have an average of 12 years of classroom experience. 42% of our teachers identify as people of color.
