The Senior Analyst, Analytics supports indicative modeling activities for one primary market and supports structured financial analysis across Convergent’s energy storage portfolio under guidance from senior team members. This role supports modeling activities by contributing to accuracy, responsiveness, and analytical rigor under the guidance of senior team members.
The Senior Analyst builds foundational knowledge in market structures, financial modeling methodologies, and energy storage economics. This role works with Business Development, Project Development, Capital Markets (CM).
This is an individual contributor role and therefore does not have any direct reports.
What You’ll Do
Financial Modeling and Analysis (75%)
o Assist in preparing and maintaining indicative financial models for one primary market under the direction of senior team members.
o Assist in updating model assumptions related to pricing, tariffs, capital expenditures, operating performance, and incentives under senior team guidance.
o Support sensitivity analyses to evaluate project returns and financial risk exposure, incorporating guidance from senior team members.
o Identify straightforward issues in financial models and escalate them to senior members to improve reliability and analytical clarity.
o Support debt and tax equity modeling inputs when aligned to Capital Markets (CM) initiatives.
o Maintain version control, documentation, and modeling best practices.
Market Research and Strategic Insights (15%)
o Assist in gathering information on market rules, tariff structures, and regulatory updates impacting project economics.
o Support evaluation of price forecasts and merchant exposure assumptions.
o Compile information to support preparation of internal summaries outlining financial implications of market developments under senior team guidance.
o Contribute to updates of internal market assumption libraries.
Operational Excellence and Process Governance (10%)
o Support structured modeling request coordination and workflow management.
o Assist in maintaining standardized modeling templates and internal tools.
o Contribute to KPI tracking and structured assumption update cycles.
o Follow established analytical processes and documentation practices.
Required Qualifications
o Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
o 1–3 years of experience in financial modeling, renewable energy, infrastructure, or related analytical roles.
o Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including building and troubleshooting financial models.
o Solid understanding of discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis and project return metrics.
o Ability to manage assigned modeling tasks to meet established deadlines.
o Strong analytical reasoning and attention to detail.
o Effective written and verbal communication skills.
o 10% travel expected, primarily for team events and company-wide meetings.
o Alignment with Convergent’s mission and strong interest in the clean energy transition.
Preferred Qualifications
o Exposure to renewable energy markets or infrastructure finance.
o Experience supporting transaction modeling or corporate financial forecasting processes.
o Familiarity with debt modeling or tax equity concepts.
o Experience working with large datasets or supplemental analytical tools.

Base Salary Range: $85,000-100,000; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
