About Assembly
We founded Assembly in 2020 (originally named Copilot) to create an AI-powered customer experience platform and modern CRM for professional service firms. We’re based in New York City and raised a $10M Series A in 2022.
Our platform helps professional service firms manage client work from one place, replacing the need for multiple tools. This includes a client portal for tasks, payments, messages, files, contracts, and forms, plus a CRM with an AI Assistant that provides client context. We aim to improve client onboarding, retention, and satisfaction.
Assembly integrates with other business tools. You can embed Calendly, Airtable, and other products, connect via Zapier/Make and webhooks, and develop custom apps through our API. Over 1,000 businesses trust us, serving more than 1 million clients. We are SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliant. Our platform serves tech-enabled service businesses in fields like technology, marketing, financial services, consulting, accounting, real estate, and law.
Mission & Values
Our mission at Assembly is to simplify starting, running, and growing a professional service firm.
We look for people who are kind, direct, and intense, with high standards. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and take full ownership of your work. We cultivate an environment free of politicking or abrasiveness.
Team & Culture
We are a team of 11-50 employees, operating with an in-person culture at our New York City office. We offer a hybrid option on Wednesdays, but the default expectation is to work in the office. We value in-person collaboration and often spend time together outside of work, playing chess or video games.
Our culture is highly collaborative and fast-paced. We encourage employees to develop their skills as we grow. We look for people who thrive in a collaborative setting and take real ownership of their work, even when everything isn’t perfectly defined. We are well-capitalized and growing quickly, with over 1,000 paying customers. We genuinely enjoy working together in person, which shows up in our daily collaboration.
Our new NYC office is at 900 Broadway, near Union Square, with convenient access to multiple subway lines. We organize full-team international offsites twice a year to exciting locations like Istanbul, Bali, Lisbon, Mexico City, and Puerto Rico.
Our interview process is transparent and efficient: a 30-minute screening call, followed by one or two remote interviews and a short homework project, then a final onsite interview in our NYC office to meet the team and assess collaboration and fit. We can sponsor straightforward work visas like TNs and other common employment-based visas. More complex visa situations may not be a fit.
