Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Systems Engineer located out of corporate office in Bloomington, MN. The Senior Systems Engineer works with a team of skilled staff to implement, maintain and develop technical systems. Is a mentor and technical resource to IT Service Desk staff and other Systems Engineers, sharing responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and support of the company’s global server, network, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
The Senior Systems Engineer participates in a variety of higher-level and/or cross-functional team projects including the planning, design, and implementation of network and server infrastructure components and complementary technologies such as data storage systems, backup systems, security products, and disaster recovery.
Key Accountabilities:
Network Engineering & Administration
Design, setup & administration of all network systems including but not limited to: Cisco FMC, Cisco Meraki, Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches, MX security appliances, Cisco Remote Access and Site to Site VPN, Wireless connectivity and access points, and cloud network infrastructure (primarily Azure).
- Design, setup, and administration of iSCSI Networks, Network Attached Storage, SAN fabrics, backup & recovery systems such as Commvault and disaster recovery components.
Systems Engineering & Administration
- System architecture, engineering, and administration of servers & applications, primarily Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Servers and IIS systems, including FTP & web.
- Implementation & administration of physical and virtual servers (Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure) and failover clustering.
- Provide necessary documentation for all applications and systems.
- Provide occasional off-hours support as needed for updates, upgrades, and technical issues.
- Combine deep technical skills with industry experience and best practices to drive change with the rest of the team.
Maintenance & Projects
- Management and maintenance of the corporate network, including routers, switches, firewalls, remote access, and wireless connectivity.
- Patch management and infrastructure monitoring
- Manage multifaceted and technically sophisticated projects and on-going operations.
- Meet project and task deadlines.
- Help define and meet SLA requirements for infrastructure components.
- Continually look to improve and refine the IS infrastructure services delivered to the business, globally.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technology.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with people at all organizational levels.
- Work in a team environment making positive contributions to the organization.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff members, customers, and vendors.
Other duties as assigned or required.
The US national base salary range for this position is $105,561 - $129,313. This position is also eligible for a bonus. The base salary range displayed reflects the targeted hiring range for positions across all US locations. Individual pay is determined by job-related skills, work location and relevant education or experience.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related/applicable field(s) is preferred.
- Cisco Meraki, FMC, and traditional CLI/console administration experience are strongly preferred.
- At least 5 Years of experience as a Systems Engineer using applicable and transferrable technologies, including, but not limited to: Networking, Storage, Virtualization, Active Directory, Azure Cloud Platform
- A further 1-3 years of experience in a Senior Engineer, performing design, implementation, development and support of infrastructure components
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Administration, including various Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory environment supporting 500+ users and 150+ servers
Skills:
- Advanced computer skills, strong written and oral communication skills
- The ability to travel overseas as required (<10%)
- Occasionally lifts materials weighing up to 50 pounds

Work Environment
Most positions located out of our global headquarters in Bloomington, MN will work a hybrid work schedule where you will work 3 collaboration days a week. Additional in office time may be required to support team/project needs.
