Job Description
Our Why
Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people’s lives and help organisations use the power of tech to innovate and grow.
About the Role
This is not a back‑office delivery role. As a Senior Consultant – Azure Integration, you are the face of Datacom’s integration capability. You will work directly with customers from the earliest conversations — shaping ideas, running discovery workshops, influencing architecture decisions, and translating business problems into elegant, scalable Azure integration solutions.
You’ll sit at the intersection of technical pre‑sales, solution architecture, and delivery leadership, helping organisations modernise their integration landscapes and prepare for an AI‑enabled future. You’ll be trusted to lead conversations, guide decisions, and represent Datacom as a true integration authority.
If you enjoy solving complex integration challenges, engaging senior stakeholders, and staying ahead of the curve with Azure and AI technologies — this role is built for you!
What You’ll Do
Client‑Facing Consulting & Pre‑Sales
- Act as a trusted integration advisor to enterprise customers.
- Lead discovery workshops, architecture deep dives, and technical design sessions.
- Partner with sales and account teams on technical pre‑sales, solution shaping, and proposal support.
- Confidently represent Datacom in front of customers as the integration subject‑matter expert.
Solution Architecture & Design
- Design robust, secure, and scalable integration architectures using Azure Integration Services.
- Apply modern integration patterns including API‑led connectivity, event‑driven architectures, and asynchronous messaging.
- Define future‑state architectures aligned to cloud, modernisation, and AI adoption strategies.
Azure Integration Delivery Leadership
- Lead or guide the implementation of complex Azure integration solutions.
- Ensure solutions are built in line with best practices, security standards, and enterprise architecture principles.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across delivery teams.
Modernisation, AI & Innovation
- Assess legacy integration landscapes and develop modernisation roadmaps.
- Build and present proofs of concept (POCs) to validate integration and AI‑enabled use cases.
- Stay current with — or actively learn — emerging Azure, AI, and automation capabilities used across Datacom.
Thought Leadership & Knowledge Sharing
- Contribute to Datacom’s integration capability through standards, patterns, and reusable assets.
- Share insights via internal workshops, customer sessions, and technical documentation.
What You’ll Bring
Technical Expertise
7+ years’ experience delivering enterprise integration solutions.
Strong hands‑on experience with Azure Integration Services, including:
- Logic Apps
- Azure Service Bus
- API Management
- Event Grid / Event Hubs
Deep understanding of integration architecture, patterns, and messaging concepts.
Strong API design knowledge (REST, versioning, security, governance).
Experience with other integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi or similar is highly valued.
Consulting & Communication
- Proven consulting experience working directly with enterprise customers.
- Comfortable leading workshops, whiteboard sessions, and executive‑level conversations.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, practical business language.
- Confident presence — you enjoy being front‑of‑house with customers.
Future‑Focused Mindset
- Interest in AI‑enabled integration and intelligent applications.
- Either already familiar with, or genuinely motivated to learn, the tools and technologies Datacom is adopting in the AI and intelligent automation space.
- Curious, adaptable, and continuously learning.
Credentials (Nice to Have)
- Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer Associate).
- Experience supporting technical pre‑sales or bid responses.
- Enterprise or regulated‑industry experience.
