About the role
An exciting opportunity has opened up as a Technical Business Analyst. In the role, the successful candidate will:
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear functional and technical requirements
- Analyse existing systems, workflows, and data flows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Produce high‑quality functional specifications, technical specifications, data mapping, and process documentation
- Participate in solution design and architecture discussions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and target architecture
- Work closely with developers, QA, architecture, and infrastructure teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly
- Investigate and triage production incidents, defects, and performance issues
- Identify and recommend enhancements that improve system performance, stability, or user experience
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date system documentation, process maps, configuration details, and user guides
- Ensure solutions comply with IT standards, security policies, data protection requirements, and financial‑services regulatory frameworks
About you
We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:
- A minimum of 5 years experience with a proven track record of working in a technically complex environment
- Demonstrable achievements in managing & delivering solutions to complex business requirements
- Very strong technical skills and a desire to progress to becoming a lead technical analyst/architect
- Strong experience in systems analysis, technical design, solutions development and deployment with a proven track record of playing a key role
- Ability to maintain productive and cordial relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at various levels of seniority across the organisation
- Experience in working with 3rd party system solution providers
- Knowledge of financial markets and particularly Wealth Management systems an advantage
- Knowledge of business intelligence and development tools such as Python, Power BI, SQL query skills
- A proven track record of working in multi-disciplined project environments
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills working in a pressurised environment dealing with time critical issues
- An ability to prioritise workloads and achieve critical deadlines
- Experience of drafting comprehensive test scripts & use cases and executing test plans
- Strong facilitation and influencing skills
- A relevant Third Level degree (or equivalent)
- Experience working with both Waterfall and Agile project delivery methodologies
- Experience working with a CRM is advantageous
- Experience working within the financial services industry is required
- Proficiency in Business Process Mapping techniques; supporting accreditations (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN) are an advantage
- Project Management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP is an advantage.
