About the Role
EBANX is seeking a highly skilled Manager of Risk to lead our enterprise risk management framework, oversee internal controls, and strengthen the company’s overall risk culture. This role plays a key part in ensuring that EBANX maintains robust, scalable, and efficient processes that support business growth while mitigating financial, operational, regulatory, and strategic risks.
The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, collaborative, and experienced in risk management within payments, fintech, banking, or other highly regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EBANX’s risk management framework.
- Identify, assess, monitor, and report on the company’s key risk exposures—financial, operational, compliance, and strategic.
- Partner with business units to design, monitor, and validate appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain risk dashboards, indicators (KRIs), methodologies, and risk appetite alignment.
- Conduct periodic risk assessments and facilitate risk workshops across the organization.
- Support executive leadership and governance committees with risk insights and reporting.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Lead the Internal Control function, ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of end-to-end processes.
- Oversee the creation, documentation, and testing of internal controls (including SOX‑like controls if applicable).
- Collaborate with Compliance, Finance, Operations, Technology, and Legal teams to ensure processes adhere to regulatory and company standards.
- Identify control gaps and oversee remediation plans.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage and develop the risk and internal control team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen risk awareness across business areas through training, communication, and partnership.
- Work closely with internal audit and external auditors to ensure alignment and successful reviews.
Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare accurate and meaningful risk reports for senior management and the board.
- Track trends, emerging risks, and market signals relevant to the payments and fintech ecosystem.
- Support strategic decision‑making by providing risk‑based perspectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related fields.
- Proven experience (typically 6+ years) in risk management, internal controls, audit, compliance, or related functions—preferably in fintech, payments, banking, or technology companies.
- Strong understanding of enterprise risk frameworks, operational risk practices, and internal controls.
- Experience leading teams and managing stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Excellent data analysis skills; ability to work with dashboards, metrics, and structured methodologies.
- Fluent English (mandatory).
- Spanish (desired).
- Availability to be based in Curitiba or São Paulo.

- Familiarity with fraud risk, financial risk, or payment‑industry risk solutions is a plus.
