About Effective School Solutions
We partner with K-12 school districts to provide in-school mental health programs and behavioral support for students with emotional and behavioral needs. We started in 2009 as a therapeutic day school and later shifted to offering clinical programs within school districts. Today, we work with over 140 school districts in 14 states, supporting more than 7,500 students.
Our services include:
- School-Based Clinical Programming: We provide in-person, evidence-based care directly in schools. This includes multi-tiered support (Tier 1, 2, 3), detailed progress tracking, quarterly data reports, and access to our MindBeat Pulse® data dashboard.
- Behavioral Support Solutions: Our program uses a Trauma-Attuned Model® and offers strategies and tools for managing intense behaviors. This includes in-classroom support, de-escalation, crisis management, functional analysis, behavior tracking, classroom design consultation, and teacher training.
- School Avoidance & Chronic Absenteeism Interventions: We offer a solution that combines consultative planning with therapeutic mental health and behavioral support.
- Crisis Response & Re-Entry Solutions: We help school districts manage and streamline crisis responses.
- Professional Development, Coaching and Consulting: We train educators to identify student mental health issues, connect students with care, and understand how trauma affects them.
We address mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), bipolar disorder, and ADHD. Our data shows that we prevent out-of-district placement for 97% of Tier 3 students. Students who are struggling academically often raise their GPA by a full letter grade. We see a 40% reduction in absences for students with chronic absenteeism and a 54% decrease in suspensions for those with severe disciplinary issues.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to partner with districts and help them implement culturally inclusive mental health and behavioral support programs. We believe these programs improve care, strengthen academics, address trauma, and keep students in their local districts, allowing every child to reach their greatest potential.
Team & Culture
We have 51-200 employees. We foster a nurturing and supportive educational environment. We support employee growth through professional development and promote from within, giving internal staff priority for promotions and new roles. Clinicians receive extensive initial training, ongoing supervision, and participate in monthly peer supervision groups. We value work-life balance, offering significant time off, including flexible summer schedules. We also encourage staff self-care and provide resources like an employer-sponsored Calm Premium subscription. Clinicians manage small caseloads, which helps them build meaningful connections with students.
Benefits & Perks
We offer a comprehensive benefits package to our team members, including:
- Insurance: Medical and prescription drugs, dental, vision, health care accounts, life insurance, group life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, long-term disability, voluntary short-term disability, and voluntary life insurance.
- Paid Time Off: Vacation days, paid holidays (aligned with national holidays and district calendars), and flexible summer schedules (abbreviated hours for extended school year (ESY) or special projects). Paid and unpaid leave options are available based on state and federal guidelines.
- Employee Wellness: We provide access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), an employer-sponsored Calm Premium subscription, and Omada Health.
- Other Employee Programs: An employee referral bonus, peer supervision groups, clinical supervision, and complimentary Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through an online training database.
- Financial Well-being: A 401(k) plan allows before-tax, Roth, and after-tax contributions, with a company match and a range of investment options. We also offer a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for eligible dependent care services.
