We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with 6+ years of professional experience to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in banking or financial services environments, along with strong experience supporting critical production systems and enterprise applications.
This role requires hands-on Java development expertise, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure production environments. The candidate will collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, operations, and business teams to maintain and enhance mission-critical financial applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support enterprise Java applications and services.
- Provide production support for critical business applications in financial environments.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes for recurring incidents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Business teams.
- Develop scalable and maintainable backend solutions using Java and related frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Monitor application performance, system stability, and operational health.
- Support deployment activities and participate in release processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to reliability, monitoring, and operational support.
- Participate in on-call rotations when required.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
- Experience working in banking, financial services, or highly regulated environments.
- Strong experience providing production support for enterprise applications.
- Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot development.
- Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues related to performance, scalability, and system stability.
- Understanding of incident management and root cause analysis processes.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or JMS.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes or operational support frameworks.
