Job Description
Evergreen Services Group is a San Francisco-based holding company that acquires and operates B2B services companies across North America. Since its founding in late 2017, Evergreen has completed 100+ acquisitions across Managed IT Services, Cybersecurity, ERP Software Partners and Government Services. We are driven by a people-first mission to be the best home for businesses and their leaders, by marrying capital allocation with inspired operations.
The Evergreen holding company team is comprised of 40+ professionals based in San Francisco who are focused on capital allocation, M&A, executive level hiring, strategic board leadership, and finance and accounting. Evergreen is a uniquely long-term oriented holding company that seeks to hold and grow businesses indefinitely rather than follow the 5-7 year holding period of a typical private equity fund. This allows us to take a truly long-term view on performance and people. Evergreen is backed by Alpine Investors, a leading private equity firm focused on the services and software industries with $16B+ in AUM.
Position Overview
The day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Owning the financial systems and data strategy, defining and then executing on a 12–24 month roadmap in partnership with Finance and Executive leadership
Owning end-to-end data architecture, including data lake and data warehouse infrastructure (Azure/Fabric), API and ETL/ELT integrations across source systems (ERP, EPM, HRIS), and BI reporting layers (Power BI)
Developing and maintaining scalable BI and analytics frameworks that translate complex financial data into clear, actionable business insights
Establishing and enforcing data governance standards, including master data management (MDM), metadata governance, and data quality frameworks across Finance
Identifying and implementing AI-driven automation opportunities to transform Finance operations, reporting, and insight generation
Leading large-scale system initiatives from requirements gathering through delivery, managing timelines, stakeholders, and cross-functional dependencies, including managing external technical consultant relationships
Flexing between strategic leadership and hands-on contributor work — directing a small group of internal and external resources while personally contributing to writing code, building pipelines, designing data models and system oversight
Driving technology adoption and change management across our Holding Company and support industry vertical teams in system implementation and adoption
Translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions, acting as the bridge between Finance leadership and technical teams
Partnering closely with Finance, IT resources and cross-functional stakeholders to align systems strategy with business priorities
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Data Architecture, Finance/Business Systems, or Business Intelligence, ideally within high-growth and/or high-M&A environments
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Experience owning end-to-end data architecture including data lake or warehouse infrastructure, ETL/ELT integrations, and BI reporting layers; proficiency in SQL required, Microsoft stack a strong plus
- Experience with financial systems at scale including ERP, EPM, and Business Intelligence platforms; familiarity with OneStream and Business Central a plus
- Deep understanding of data engineering best practices, warehousing/lakehouse architecture, MDM, and metadata governance
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale system initiatives, preferably within Finance
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
Personal Attributes
- Strategic thinker and hands-on builder — equally comfortable driving vision and rolling up your sleeves to execute
- Excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for Finance stakeholders and vice versa
- Highly collaborative with strong cross-functional relationship and project management skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable operating with autonomy in a lean team environment
- Excited about applying emerging AI and automation tools to modernize how Finance operates
- Interested in a long-term career at a company building something to last for decades
- High integrity, low ego — Evergreen hires on potential and trajectory as much as technical credentials

We encourage you to apply even if you feel that you do not meet all of the above qualifications.
