ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for building and driving FairMoney’s retail and business sales strategy across Nigeria. The role will focus on growing adoption of FairMoney’s financial products through a strong, structured sales organization covering both B2C and B2B segments.
This position will lead the development of an in-house retail sales function that manages and scales direct sales activities, including agency-led acquisition. The Head of Sales will be accountable for sales performance across key products such as Current Accounts, Savings, Transaction Accounts, Loans and Debit Cards, while also supporting B2B partnerships and business acquisition.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build, lead, and scale a high-performing retail sales organization across Nigeria.
Set up and manage an in-house sales team responsible for overseeing direct sales and agency-driven acquisition.
Drive B2C offline sales growth across FairMoney’s core retail products.
Own the sales strategy and execution for retail customer acquisition and activation nationwide..
Support B2B sales efforts by enabling partnerships, employer on-boarding for payroll lending, and business account acquisition.
Recruit, train, and manage sales leaders, team leads, and field sales teams to deliver consistent results.
Define sales targets, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions where required.
Work closely with Operations and Risk teams to ensure compliant, sustainable sales practices.
Provide regular reporting on sales performance, pipeline health, and market insights to senior management.
Build scalable sales processes, incentive structures, and performance management frameworks.
10+ years of sales leadership experience within leading fintechs or tier-1 commercial banks, with a clear track record in retail financial services.
Proven experience building and leading high-volume direct sales organization, including large field and agency-based teams operating at national scale.
Demonstrated success in acquiring millions of retail accounts within 12–18 months, across products such as current accounts, savings, transaction accounts, cards, or lending products.
Strong background in mass-market customer acquisition, particularly in environments with aggressive growth targets and tight execution timelines.
Hands-on experience designing and running direct sales and agent-led acquisition models, including recruitment, training, incentives, and performance management.
Deep understanding of Nigeria’s retail banking and fintech landscape, including regional dynamics and on-the-ground execution challenges.
Commercially strong, with the ability to balance growth, cost efficiency, and portfolio quality.
Highly data-driven, comfortable managing large pipelines, conversion metrics, and productivity KPIs at scale.
Confident senior leader with the presence to drive alignment across product, operations, risk, and executive leadership teams.
