Your key responsibilities as a Senior Kotlin Developer will include:
- Owning, developing, and stabilising core backend microservices to ensure reliability and scalability in production environments.
- Optimising performance of existing services and processes, with a strong focus on efficiency and long-term maintainability.
- Contributing to system architecture, technical decision-making, and thorough pull request reviews to uphold engineering standards.
- Participating in 2nd and 3rd level support, including root cause analysis and operational problem-solving.
- Working closely with other engineers to ensure high-quality delivery across backend services and, where required, occasional frontend tasks.
- Supporting the ongoing operation of production systems through monitoring, analysis, and continuous improvement.
You will need the following experience and skills to join us as a Senior Kotlin Developer:
- You bring several years of experience as a senior backend engineer, with confidence operating and improving production systems.
- You have strong hands-on experience with Java or Kotlin, ideally using Spring Boot in a microservices environment.
- You demonstrate deep expertise in MongoDB or NoSQL technologies, including aggregations and performance-focused data modelling.
- You apply strong algorithmic thinking with a clear focus on scalability, performance optimisation, and sustainable solutions.
- You are comfortable taking ownership, performing root cause analysis, and contributing calmly and effectively during production incidents.
