About the role:
Financeit is looking for a detail-oriented and curious Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll have ownership of day-to-day accounting activities, build a strong understanding of our consumer lending operations, and support accurate, timely financial reporting. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s eager to learn, takes initiative, and enjoys finding ways to improve processes in a fast-paced fintech environment.
- Prepare timely and accurate month-end working papers and journal entries
- Perform daily cash and loans receivable reconciliations
- Support day-to-day operational accounting activities
- Support lender reporting with monthly reports and ad-hoc analysis
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Accounting to enhance processes and workflows
- Contribute to the year-end financial audit.
What you’ll be doing:
Prepare timely and accurate month-end working papers and journal entries
Perform daily cash and loans receivable reconciliations
Support day-to-day operational accounting activities
Support lender reporting with monthly reports and ad-hoc analysis
Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Accounting to enhance processes and workflows
Contribute to the year-end financial audit.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting experience
CPA designation or progress toward CPA designation is strongly preferred
Advanced Excel skills are a must (v-lookup, pivot tables, sumif)
Knowledge of IFRS concepts and day-to-day accounting is required
Experience with Accounting ERP systems and Google Looker is an asset
Previous audit experience is considered an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized, takes initiative, dependable, with a mindset for continuous improvement
Experience in financial services or lending is an asset.

- Annual Base Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
- Annual Bonus: 20%
