Job Description
Cyclingnews, the world centre of cycling and the world’s largest road cycling website, is looking for a Staff Writer to join our UK editorial team.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Deputy Editor, you’ll help drive our core output of racing news and reports, and support our exponential growth in news coverage around cycling - racing, industry and tech topics.
You’ll be covering the latest racing, industry & tech news, writing race reports and producing live race updates, and writing feature interviews and in-depth stories.
You’ll attend races and events in person to ensure _Cyclingnews_ captures exclusive news and content. This will sometimes include weekend rotations and after-hours work and travel.
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve
- Interest in and a passion for professional cycling and racing
- Ability to identify and write high-quality news stories
- Sub-editing skills
- Ability to use analytics platforms to measure and inform content strategies
- An existing understanding of SEO best practices and the ability to quickly develop these skills
- An excellent contact list in the sport
- Ability to work as part of a wider team across multiple time zones
What’s in it for you
The expected range for this role is £26,500 - £29,000.
This is a Hybrid role from our Bath or London office, working three days from the office, two from home
