Tax Manager
Hybrid | Multiple Southern California Locations
A well-established Top 100 public accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public accounting professional looking to work with sophisticated clients, lead engagements, mentor staff, and continue advancing their career in a collaborative environment.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of industries while serving as a trusted advisor to clients on complex tax matters and planning strategies.
What You’ll Do
- Review complex individual, partnership, S corporation, and corporate tax returns.
- Manage multiple tax engagements from planning through completion.
- Provide tax planning, consulting, and technical guidance to clients.
- Research complex tax issues and develop practical solutions.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Lead client meetings and communicate recommendations clearly.
- Supervise, coach, and develop tax professionals across multiple experience levels.
- Manage IRS and state tax examinations as needed.
- Monitor engagement budgets, billing, and project timelines.
- Participate in business development and practice growth initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience.
- Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client engagements.
- Prior experience leading or mentoring staff.
- Active CPA license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Taxation preferred).
- Strong technical tax knowledge, communication skills, and client service mindset.
$14,500 - $18,500 a year
