Overview:
The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated tests and process to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability. They work across various areas of the products and infrastructure to reduce manual effort in testing and increasing the speed of test cycles.
Your Most Important Initiatives:
- Design and develop automation scripts for features, workflows and for regressions.
- Implement and maintain test frameworks, and tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve existing automated scripts.
- Ensure automated solutions align with business and technical requirements.
- Stay updated on emerging automation technologies and best practices.
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in automation
- Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages (typescript, Python, JavaScript)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and devops practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Communication & Collaboration Expectations:
1. Regular Updates
- Provide consistent, scheduled updates (e.g. daily or weekly) to the onshore manager on progress, challenges, and accomplishments.
- Utilize communication tools such as email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or other platforms to maintain transparent and frequent communication.
2. Time Zone Alignment:
- Understand the time zone differences and align availability for meetings, check-ins, and collaboration as needed.
- Ensure timely response to urgent requests from onshore teams within reasonable working hours.
3. Virtual Meetings & Check ins:
- Attend and actively participate in required virtual team meetings, status updates and 1:1s with the onshore manager.
- Prepare and share relevant information in advance to make meetings efficient and productive.
- Ensure clear communication during virtual interactions, including using video calls when appropriate.
4. Collaboration tools and Platforms
- Maintain proficiency in tools used by the onshore team.
- Stay updates on new tools or practices adopted by the onshore team and be proactive in using them to ensure alignment.
5. Proactive Issue Resolution:
- Communicate any issues or delays in completing tasks as soon as they arise, proposing potential solutions where possible.
- Work with the onshore manager to address any challenges or roadblocks promptly.
6. Cultural Sensitivity & Team Integration:
- Display and understanding of the company’s culture and the importance of collaboration with cross-cultural teams.
- Make efforts to participate in team-building activities or virtual gatherings to foster camaraderie with onshore colleagues.
7. Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Track and report on the completion of assigned tasks, ensuring transparency and accountability for the work completed.
- Use shared documents or tracking systems to ensure visibility of progress to both the onshore manager and relevant team members.
8. Feedback and Continuous Improvement:
- Be open to receiving and incorporating feedback from the onshore manager and peers to continuously improve performance
