About GoFundMe.org
We are an independent 501©(3) public nonprofit, founded in 2017. We raise and distribute funds for people and communities in urgent need, especially those affected by crises, natural disasters, and social inequalities. We work closely with GoFundMe, Inc., using their technology and resources at no cost, but operate as a separate entity from the GoFundMe fundraising platform.
We manage disaster-relief donations, raising funds and providing unrestricted cash grants. We provide a fast and secure way for donors to support people in crisis, often delivering grants within hours to provide immediate relief. We also manage charitable funds for strategic partners and distribute grants directly to individuals in need and nonprofits that match each fund’s mission. Our grant recipients include verified individuals fundraising on GoFundMe, individuals vetted by our partners, and vetted nonprofits responding to crises or recommended by partners.
We host various charitable funds, including Signature Impact Funds for specific events like wildfires, floods, and hurricanes. We also have broader initiatives such as the Essentials Fund and the Welcome Fund. We also manage Partner Funds like the Weather Resilience Fund and the Girls Opportunity Alliance. We accept tax-deductible donations through various methods, including checks, cryptocurrency, donor-advised funds (DAFs), and wire/ACH transfers.
Since our founding, we and our partners have collectively raised over $185 million across more than 235 funds, distributing over 50,000 grants. In fiscal year 2025 alone, we raised over $17 million through our funds and delivered more than 11,000 grants. We focus on moving money swiftly and securely, carefully reviewing all recipients to ensure they are eligible for support.
