We are a national nonprofit organization founded in 1988, with over 40 years of experience in safe and healthy housing. Our origins date back to 1973 as ‘Christmas in April’ in Midland, Texas.
We operate through a national network of affiliates, working with community leaders, residents, funders, and volunteers. We make essential repairs to homes, revitalize communities, and support long-term recovery efforts in areas hit by natural disasters.
Our home repair work addresses major safety and health hazards, following the Eight Principles of Healthy Homes: keeping homes dry, clean, pest-free, safe, contaminant-free, well-ventilated, maintained, and thermally controlled.
