About Golden State Warriors
We joined the National Basketball Association as a charter member in 1946. We were originally based in Philadelphia for 16 years before moving to the West Coast in 1962 and becoming the San Francisco Warriors. In 1971, we changed our name to the Golden State Warriors and moved to Oakland, where we played for 47 seasons.
Today, we play in San Francisco at Chase Center. Chase Center is an 18,064-seat sports and entertainment arena. It’s the center of Thrive City, a privately financed complex in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood. Thrive City includes 3.2 acres of public plazas and open space, two office buildings, and various restaurants and shops.
We operate in the spectator sports industry and will launch a WNBA franchise in 2025.
Team & Culture
We have between 501 and 1000 employees.
