GoPro

We were founded in 2002 by Nick Woodman to develop wearable digital cameras and related software. We specialize in action cameras for sports and entertainment. Our products include cameras, accessories, and software, such as mobile and desktop apps, cloud services, and camera-embedded software.

Our engineering team develops imaging solutions, from hardware sensors to camera SOC encoders. We work on restoring image quality, understanding scenes, and creating immersive audio. We also handle optical and image quality testing in manufacturing, cross-platform software development, and hardware user experience design for camera interfaces. Our program management team coordinates global hardware and software product development from concept to launch.

We want to help people capture and share their experiences. We believe in creating positive content that encourages people to pursue their passions, and we love what we build.

Our development approach focuses on craftsmanship, reliability, and continuously improving our software engineering systems. In our design processes, we value user-centered, data-informed decision-making, using usability testing and iterative refinement.

We are a team of 500-1000 employees. We work in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes cross-functional collaboration. Our teams – hardware, firmware, software, image quality tuning, and product management – all work closely together.
