Job Description

Griffith University is seeking a proactive and analytical Donor & Prospect Intelligence Officer to join our purpose‑led Advancement team. In this pivotal role, you will deliver high‑quality research and strategic insights that directly strengthen the University’s philanthropic pipeline and support transformational fundraising initiatives.

Your work will help identify future major donors, inform fundraising strategy, and equip our leaders with the intelligence they need to build meaningful relationships. From analysing prospect data to preparing insightful research briefs and monitoring key philanthropic trends, you will play a central role in advancing Griffith’s mission to create a brighter future through education and research.

This role is ideal for professionals with experience in research, data analysis, information management, fundraising intelligence, libraries/archives, higher education, or any field where your ability to synthesise information and communicate insights shines. If you’re curious, detail‑driven, and excited by purpose‑driven work, we are keen to hear from you.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Undertake high‑quality prospect and donor research to support strategic fundraising priorities and inform engagement activity.
  • Identify and assess prospective major gift, alumni, and bequest donors to strengthen the University’s philanthropic pipeline.
  • Prepare clear, accurate and actionable research briefs and updates for fundraisers, senior staff and key events.
  • Leverage data, analytics and emerging AI‑enabled tools to synthesise information, build and maintain reports and dashboards (including within Salesforce and linked reporting platforms), and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that support fundraising strategy and decision‑making.
  • Contribute to the effective management and optimisation of fundraising portfolios and the major gift pipeline through the provision of data‑driven insights and analysis.
  • Maintain accurate and current donor and prospect information within the CRM and support data quality, reporting and information management initiatives.

About you

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor level qualification or have an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in research, data analysis, information management, libraries/archives, philanthropy, or a related field. You’re ready to thrive in a role that values curiosity, professional growth, and meaningful outcomes.

You are someone who thrives on learning, connecting information, and uncovering what matters. You are:

  • Analytical and inquisitive – you love digging into information and drawing out meaningful insights.
  • A strong communicator – clear, concise, and able to distil complexity for diverse audiences.
  • Detail‑focused – you take pride in accuracy, clarity, and well‑presented work.
  • Organised and methodical – confident managing data, priorities, and competing deadlines.
  • Collaborative – you enjoy working in a supportive, high‑performing team.
  • Tech‑savvy – confident using CRM systems, digital and analytics tools, and research platforms.

You care about doing work that makes a difference, and you enjoy being part of a team that is striving to elevate the University’s philanthropic impact.
