Senior Brand and Communications Designer

Job Description

About The Company

GROPYUS is a technology-based construction company focused on building multi-story residential buildings. Thanks to its prefabricated building system with various design options, industrial offsite construction, and fully digitalized processes, the company manufactures aspirational, sustainable, and affordable homes using timber construction methods. GROPYUS is using scalable construction and manufacturing solutions to tap into a future market, boost Europe’s strength in innovation, while also playing a substantial role in improving sustainability.

About the Role:

The GROPYUSDesign Team, a group of multidisciplinary designers (brand, product, industrial), contributes to our mission by creating cutting-edge, innovative, and intuitive solutions for our internal and external products set in a variety of domains.

You’ll be shaping and evolving our identity, defining how it is seen, felt, and experienced. From building visual systems and guidelines to crafting compelling communications across digital, print, motion design, video, and experiential touchpoints, you’ll ensure our brand is consistent, impactful, and memorable across B2B and B2C markets.

But your work won’t stop at marketing channels - you’ll help define how our brand shows up across every dimension: in our products, in the way employees engage with internal communications, and in how we present ourselves in spaces and moments that matter.

You don’t shy away from ambiguity, whether it’s an unclear brief, a shift in approach, or a touchpoint we’ve never designed for before. You bring clarity, structure, and creativity, turning insights and complexity into engaging design. With a balance of craft and pragmatism, you create work that inspires while advancing business goals.

You’re not just here to maintain the brand — you’re here to move it forward. You know when to push boundaries and when to let simplicity and consistency do the heavy lifting, and you strike that balance with intention. When the right project or initiative calls for it — whether that’s an employer branding campaign or a scrappy, fast-moving initiative — you bring real energy and ambition, going all in to expand what the brand can be and do. You’re the kind of designer who doesn’t wait to be asked to go further.

And while you think strategically about brand and experience, you’re always a doer. You roll up your sleeves to design and deliver, moving seamlessly from high-level concepts to polished execution. This combination of vision and craft ensures our brand isn’t just well-defined but powerfully expressed in the work we put into the world.

What to expect:

  • Shape and evolve our brand identity by developing visual systems, guidelines, and toolkits that ensure consistency and impact across digital, print, product, and experiential touchpoints.

  • Push the boundaries of our Craft- infuse creativity into our brand and all its various expressions where possible, while balancing the needs of the Brand today to create Marketing materials

  • Bring the brand to lifeholistically - through broad experience in motion design, video, and animation — crafting engaging stories for marketing, product explainers, social media, and internal communications.

  • Lead end-to-end design projects— from briefing to concept development to final execution — spanning events, presentations, web, social, video, and internal communications.

  • Translate strategy and insights into design solutions, bringing clarity and creativity to ambiguous or complex briefs, and maintaining an inclusive, iterative design process.

  • Clearly articulate design decisionsthrough compelling presentations and detailed documentation, effectively introducing solutions to peers and executive-level stakeholders

  • Balance strategic and executional work — thinking beyond the immediate request to its wider impact on the brand and business, knowing when to go deep and when to move quickly, without compromising overall quality and intent.

  • Manage multiple stakeholders, articulating design decisions with strong rationale and presenting work to peers and executives with confidence.

  • Collaborate across departments (Marketing and Communications, Product Management, Product Research, Sales, Sustainability, People, Leadership) to ensure brand is cohesive and streamline the design and development process

  • Mentor and uplift teammates, sharing feedback and setting high standards for craft, creativity, and collaboration.

What you bring:

  • Education: degree in Design, Communications, Marketing, or similar field

  • Work experience: Minimum 6 years of creating outstanding brand, marketing, and communication materials across digital and print; experience in a startup or entrepreneurial environment is a plus.

  • Mastery with design and collaboration tools: Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (pro), After Effects (or similar), Premiere (or similar) (fluent), Figma, Miro.

  • AI curiosity & adaptability: You keep a close eye on how AI is reshaping design and are open to exploring how emerging tools can elevate brand work. No specific fluency required — genuine curiosity and a willingness to experiment is.

  • Strategic brand thinking: Solid understanding of brand strategy and the ability to translate it into compelling visual narratives and communication touchpoints.

  • Human- and planet-centered design principles: Demonstrated ability to create design solutions that consider inclusivity, accessibility, and sustainability, as well as native experience in Design Thinking processes.

  • Visual identity expertise: Strong background in building, evolving and maintaining brand systems — from components like logos, typography and layout to comprehensive guidelines including photography and illustration style.

  • Prototyping & concepting: Capable of quickly iterating ideas and producing mockups, storyboards, and assets that bring the concept to life.

  • Collaboration skills: Proven ability to partner effectively with marketing and communications, product management, product research, sustainability, leadership, and external agencies to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Storytelling & influence: A compelling communicator who can craft and narrate the story behind design work, engaging stakeholders while grounding ideas in data, insights, and logical reasoning.

  • Language:Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; German language skills minimum B1, preference to B2

  • Portfolio: A quality portfolio showcasing original and recent work, including brand identity, and other communications and graphic design projects

Personal Attributes

  • Drive and passion: a genuine enthusiasm for design and a commitment to staying updated with the latest industry developments

  • Analytical thinking: ability to analyze feedback and research to iterate on designs and improve user experience using first principles thinking

  • Learning mindset: quick to learn new concepts, approaches, and tools, with a structured approach to problem-solving

  • Pragmatism and common sense: balanced approach to achieving high-quality results efficiently

  • Team spirit: eager to receive feedback, support team members, and contribute to a collaborative work environment

  • Attention to detail: meticulous in ensuring the accuracy and quality of design outputs
