Job Description

Provide strategic leadership for the accounting and administration function of a key Guernsey domiciled private equity client with accounting workflows in a number of supporting jurisdictions. Act as a liaison between servicing teams and client back office to co-ordinate workstreams and work towards a cohesive integrated and seamlessly co-ordinated accounting and administration solution to support this fast growing client. Drive operational transformation and business growth by ensuring high quality accounting and service output. Conduct wider oversight over company secretarial and regulatory compliance in relevant jurisdictions and foster a culture of innovation across supporting service lines and regions. Work closely with Guernsey based Client Service Director, Client Relationship Director and Head of Fund Operations on all areas of this mandate. Monitor all elements of service delivery and lead continuous improvements on the client operating model.

This individual will contribute to ongoing development, refinement, implementation of and adherence to best practice controls processes and controls in line with the overall mission, culture and values of IQ-EQ. They will:

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with client and related stakeholders and supporting client growth.
  • Be key client contact for all workflows, operational matters and deliverables. Engage regularly with members of the client team at the highest level (Partners, COO, Head of Funds and Investor Relations).
  • Develop and execute comprehensive talent strategies including succession planning and career development of client supporting teams.
  • Drive client growth through gaining of trust and high level of client responsiveness and technical awareness.
  • Engage at a senior level of technical expertise with the client back and front office. Share insights and best practice awareness.
  • Drive operational excellence through strategic resource allocation, clear KPIs, and data-driven initiatives to ensure sustainable growth and accountability.
  • Establish service delivery frameworks that enable scalability and adaptability to the evolving client needs.
  • Understand the full breadth of services offered by IQ-EQ and develop an internal network within IQ-EQ to facilitate purposeful conversations with the client.
  • Oversee planning of all client deliverables. Ensuring that allocation of work between staff is consistent across all levels and staff are fully utilised. Support the CRD in leading client service review meetings.
  • Regular communications with all supporting jurisdictions.
  • Engage client and suggest relevant operational improvements at client level when and where appropriate.
  • Lead and inspire high-performing teams by fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Lead operational transformation initiatives to enhance service delivery capabilities and technological advancement.
  • Ultimate escalation for audit engagement across multiple portfolios and maintain senior-level relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Foster all cultural aspects of their team, aligning the teams’ mission, culture and values of their teams with those of IQ-EQ.

Qualifications

  • Chartered accountant – ideally 10 years post qualification
  • Closed ended fund experience – minimum 10 years at a local (Guernsey) administration firm
  • Appropriate private equity experience for this level
  • Experience of leading Board meetings and support teams across the full range of fund administration service offering
  • Experience in Private Equity Fund audit. Technically up to date in all relevant areas
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and monitoring KPI’s and SLA’s.
