WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
- Partners directly with engineering leadership on technically complex, often ambiguous searches
- Understands enough about distributed systems, ML research, and AI/ML signal to evaluate candidates beyond keyword matching
- Can calibrate for quality in roles where job descriptions are loose and the bar is set by the hiring team’s judgment, not a rubric
- Earns credibility with specialized technical leaders and researchers quickly
- Comfortable sitting with uncertainty on specialized searches and working through it without defaulting to volume
Qualifications
- senior technical recruiters who have worked at high-growth, mid-to-late stage AI or infrastructure-focused startups.
- direct ownership of hard technical searches in fast-moving, research-forward environments.
The recruiter must have direct full-cycle experience hiring for:
- Applied AI and ML engineering
- Research-oriented engineering roles (research engineers, applied scientists, and adjacent functions)
- Distributed systems engineering
- Infrastructure roles tied to core AI capability
- This is high-bar, relatively low-volume hiring. The person needs to be calibration-focused, not throughput-focused.
