About Kettle
We use machine learning to understand how climate change affects catastrophic risks like wildfires and hurricanes. We then write insurance and reinsurance policies to protect people and businesses from these risks.
As a Managing General Agency (MGA), we focus on wildfire insurance and underwrite Excess and Surplus (E&S) property risks.
Our technical teams build and maintain core AWS-based systems for underwriting and geospatial analytics. This involves architecting, building, and maintaining backend services, infrastructure, and internal tools. We also contribute to front-end product development using React/TypeScript.
We handle DevOps, including observability, deployment reliability, cost optimization, and security. We also design scalable architecture. We use wildfire risk modeling and support new platforms for policy administration and underwriting.
