Job Description
Overall Purpose of Job:
The Account Manager will be responsible to provide international project support within the KAE acquisition, project, and series process. The role aims to assist the KAE counterparts in relevant and general sales processes. In addition, the role will provide overarching support related to back-office activities.
Main tasks, roles, and responsibilities:
- Support in general review of RFQs compared to the CPS (Customer Product Strategy) and acquisition list
- Support in the offer preparation based on customer RFQs regarding serial parts (Writing offers, creating specific documents or checklist, manage data in customer portal)
- Manage sales topics in ProKOSTAL (project tracking system)
- Support back-office with their core team activities
- Review and archiving of contracts in the SAP CRM system (customer relationship management system)
- Execution of budget adjustment process in SAP based on customer feedback
- Monitoring of incoming orders for pre-serial, serial parts, and / or aftermarket parts (piece price, period, incoterms, etc.)
- 3rd Party price management: Maintain price history sheet, discuss and provide new price information to price management team. Communicate with customer in case of deviation
- Monitoring and maintenance of incoming orders for development and investment costs
- Support in setting up sales orders for one-time payments and its maintenance (timing, tool inventory numbers, plates, photos…)
- Tracking, reporting and follow up with subsidiaries on overdue customer payments
- Owns Commercial Customer Change Management: creates change requests incl. budget set-up, tracks analysis/implementation progress, ensures accurate budget and sales order creation in SAP, and follows up on customer payments in alignment with subsidiaries.
- Owns end-to-end run-out management in SAP: ensures correct set-up and maintenance of run-out messages, drives aligned countermeasures with KAE/Price Management, and ensures timely internal reporting and documentation.
- Performs regular analysis of production equipment data for key customers, identifies deviations/risks, and provides actionable insights and recommendations to support acquisition and series planning.
- General and regular CRM maintenance - Ensures CRM data quality and governance (RFQ master data clean-up, quality checks, management reporting, customer communication logging); proactively identifies data gaps and drives corrective actions with stakeholders.
- Customer Portal Management: Leads customer portal activities (offer creation, requirement checks, user administration, capacity updates), ensures compliance with customer requirements, and coordinates internal inputs to meet deadlines and avoid rework.
- Organization, preparation and documentation of sales related meetings and workshops, incl. coordination and consolidation of planning activities and distribution of presentations and further materials
- Creation, maintenance, improvement, and distribution of standard & ad-hoc reports
- Support in taking notes, distributing meeting minutes, status tracking and following-up with responsible stakeholders
- Translation of German and English documents
- Function as primary contact person for back-office related Q&As
Qualifications
Experiences and requirements:
Education
- Bachelorโs degree in Business or technical field, e.g., Business Administration, Economics, or comparable academic studies or completed commercial vocational training
Work experiences โ time/seniority/ sector:
- 3โ5 years of experience in Sales Operations / Account Support / Commercial Operations in a complex, international (multi-entity) environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Proven experience owning end-to-end operational processes (e.g., customer change management, order-to-cash related activities, RFQ/offer administration) and driving timely closure across functions.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders (Sales/KAM, Pricing, Finance, Plants/Operations, Subsidiaries) and actively driving alignment, escalations and resolution of blockers.
- Detailed understanding of Sales processes and customer behaviors
- Ideally, knowledge of the special requirements as well as technical and commercial trends of the automotive industry market
- Experience working with customer portals and customer-specific commercial/administrative requirements; able to ensure compliance with deadlines and documentation standards.
- Experience supporting commercial topics with financial impact (budget set-up, one-time payment orders, overdue payment follow-up) with strong accuracy and compliance focus.
- Experience in high-volume, high-accuracy commercial environments requiring disciplined execution, strict adherence to process, and thorough documentation.
- Good skills in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project)
- Good knowledge in SAP Systems
- CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system โ SAP version preferred
- Fluent in English, and in German
