About Legalist
We are an institutional alternative asset management firm, founded in 2016 and incubated at Y Combinator. We launched our first fund in 2017. We use data-driven technology, including AI, to invest in credit assets. We combine proprietary sourcing technology with underwriting expertise to help our clients achieve returns.
Our focus is on legal assets, with investment strategies spanning Litigation Finance, Government Receivables, and DIP (Debtor-in-Possession) Finance.
We manage over $1.5 billion in technology-enabled alternative investments for institutional investors, including endowments, foundations, hospitals, insurance companies, and family offices. Our assets under management have grown significantly, from $10 million in 2017 to $1.6 billion by 2024.
