We are looking for a Director of AI and Data Strategy to drive how Mark43 leverages data, analytics, and AI to shape business decisions and unlock new opportunities. This role sits at the intersection of data architecture, AI enablement, and cross-functional insight generation. You will lead the development of scalable data infrastructure and intelligent systems while remaining hands-on in developing strategic prototypes and models. Your work will set the direction for how we transform information into action across the company.
What You’ll Own
This role is about building leverage at scale, not just reporting.
Strategy & Architecture
Define and execute Mark43’s enterprise data and AI strategy, aligning technical foundations with business and product priorities
Lead the evolution of a scalable, trustworthy data platform that consolidates disparate data sources into a single source of truth
Establish standards for data governance, quality, observability, and responsible AI use in a regulated public-sector environment
AI Enablement & Applied Intelligence
Partner with Product, Sales, Operations, and People teams to identify high-value AI opportunities and rapidly prototype solutions
Guide the design and deployment of AI-powered workflows, analytics, and decision-support systems—not just dashboards
Collaborate with Engineering to embed intelligence into internal tools and future product capabilities
Insight to Action
Translate complex data and model outputs into clear, actionable insights for executive and senior leaders
Personally lead deep-dive analyses on revenue performance, operational efficiency, customer outcomes, or organizational health
Build real-time, decision-oriented dashboards and metrics that drive accountability and results
Leadership & Influence
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on data, AI, and emerging technology trends
Align cross-functional stakeholders around shared metrics, priorities, and data-driven decision-making
Mentor and grow data and analytics talent as the function scales
What You Bring
12+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years leading AI, analytics, or machine learning initiatives
Proven experience designing and executing enterprise data strategies—not just managing reporting
Strong technical fluency across modern data stacks, BI tools, data modeling, and applied AI/ML concepts
Hands-on mindset: you can architect systems and build early prototypes when speed matters
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate technical concepts into business outcomes
Systems thinker who sees connections across people, processes, data, and platforms
