Provides daily school meals to children in poverty, enabling education and supporting local economies.

About Mary's Meals

We are a global charity providing one daily meal in a place of education. This attracts chronically hungry children into classrooms. We aim to offer children an education that can provide future opportunities.

We began by feeding 200 children in Malawi and currently serve over 3 million children every school day. The average worldwide cost to feed a child for a whole school year is approximately £19.15, €22.00, or $25.20 USD. We prioritize using locally grown food to support local economies. We also ensure that at least 93% of donations are spent on our charitable work, which is largely run by volunteers. We operate in 16 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.

Mission & Values

Our mission is simple: we provide daily school meals to hungry children in a place of education. This encourages them into classrooms for an education that can lead them out of poverty.

We believe in tackling world hunger through this straightforward approach. We encourage everyone to contribute time, money, skills, or prayers to reach out to those affected by extreme poverty. Mary’s Meals is named after Mary, the mother of Jesus, and we respect and include people of all faiths and none in our work.

Team & Culture

Mary’s Meals International supports a global movement of teams and local volunteers feeding children. We foster a dynamic, flexible, inclusive, and remote-first environment, focusing on personal and professional development. Our culture values a supportive atmosphere and healthy work-life balance. Recruitment processes are informal.

Most of our work relies on a network of volunteers, both for delivering school feeding in their communities and raising global awareness.
