Matrix Camps, Logistics and Aviation

Founded in 2001, we provide camp, logistics, and aviation management services. We operate across Canada’s active exploration regions and remote areas of North America. Our clients include the mineral exploration, mining, forestry, energy, oil and gas, heavy civil construction, and Indigenous infrastructure sectors.

Our services include camp rentals and construction, and camp management for 10 to 1000 people. We also handle communications, transportation, logistics, and aviation management. This involves planning, expediting, fuel cache management, ice strip and runway construction, and snowcat services. We provide mechanical support for remote industrial sites, covering supply chain, equipment maintenance, and repairs, including heavy-duty mechanics.

We custom-design services for each project, using heli-portable hard wall fly unit structures for quick deployment and comfortable living. Our team has 25 years of experience in camp management and logistics in North America.

Our leadership team includes Martin Knutson (President and Founder), Mike Kenney (Chief Executive Officer), Austin Knutson (National Operations Manager), and Shaun Porteous (Head of Mechanics Division). We support Indigenous communities and entrepreneurs through partnerships across Canada, offering youth training and employment to create local economic and community benefits.

We offer competitive wages and career advancement opportunities. Our employee benefits include fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) arrangements, with various rotation schedules such as 3 weeks in/3 weeks out, 4 weeks on/2 weeks off, and 2 weeks on/2 weeks off.

Some positions include paid travel days, travel allowances, and comprehensive health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, often effective from the start date. For certain roles, benefits may also include paid flights, hotels, baggage, meal per diems, onsite tools, and company-branded winter work gear. Relocation support and temporary staff accommodations are available for specific positions.
