How you will make an impact?
As Operations Manager for Integration & Delivery Tools platform at METRO, you will ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the platforms and tools that power integration and software delivery across the organization. You will provide operational leadership across 8 cross-functional teams bridging technical excellence with organizational delivery to keep the platform running at its best.
Please note that this role is open also for candidates in Brasov and Cluj.
Job Description
Your responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end operational health of the Integration & Delivery Tools landscape across 8 teams.
- Ensure platform stability, reliability, and performance across integration and delivery tooling.
- Define and enforce operational standards, SLAs, and incident management processes across all Integration & Delivery Tools teams.
- Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues and coordinate cross-team incident response.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase platform reliability and reduce operational toil.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, architects, and squad leads to align operational needs with the product roadmap.
- Manage and optimize on-call processes, runbooks, and operational documentation.
- Foster a culture of operational excellence and knowledge sharing across all 8 teams.
- Identify risks and dependencies, and proactively mitigate operational bottlenecks.
- Represent Integration & Delivery Tools operations in cross-domain forums and stakeholder discussions.
Qualifications
Required key competencies and qualifications:
- Proven experience in an operations, platform engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role at a senior level.
- Strong understanding of SRE principles: SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, and incident management.
- Experience leading or coordinating multiple teams or squads.
- Demonstrated ability to define and implement operational processes (incident management, change management, on-call rotations).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to navigate complex operational challenges.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and drive alignment across teams.
- Good fluency in English (written and verbal).
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with integration platforms and delivery tooling across varied technology stacks.
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Datadog for monitoring and observability.
- Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines.
