Job description
We are seeking a highly technical Staff Product Manager to own the architecture, roadmap, and delivery of enterprise-grade Treasury and Tax platforms. This role operates at the intersection of Finance, Engineering, Security, and Compliance, driving system design decisions, integrations, and data strategy for mission-critical financial workflows.
You will lead modernization of treasury and tax technology stacks, define system architectures, manage complex integrations, and ensure data accuracy, scalability, and regulatory compliance across global operations.
We’re looking to speak with candidates in Palo Alto, San Francisco, or New York City for our hybrid working model.
Core Responsibilities
Product Architecture & Technical Strategy
Own end-to-end system architecture for Treasury and Tax platforms
Define target-state architecture including:
- ERP integrations (NetSuite or SAP)
- TMS platforms (Kyriba or GTreasury)
- Tax engines (Vertex/Avalara/OneSource)
- Banking APIs, SWIFT, host-to-host connections
Drive API-first and event-driven architecture for real-time cash and tax data
Define data models for:
- Bank transactions
- Cash positions
- FX exposures
- Tax jurisdiction mapping
Partner with Data Engineering on financial data pipelines (ETL, streaming)
Systems & Integrations
Own design and delivery of:
- Bank connectivity (SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, APIs, SFTP)
- Payment rails (ACH, wires, SEPA, RTP)
- ERP ↔ TMS ↔ Tax engine integrations
Define integration standards:
- REST/GraphQL APIs
- Webhooks
- Middleware (MuleSoft, Boomi, Workato)
Drive master data governance for:
- Bank accounts
- Legal entities
- Chart of accounts
- Tax codes and jurisdictions
Lead system migration and platform consolidation initiatives
Treasury Technical Ownership
Build and scale platforms supporting:
- Real-time cash positioning
- Liquidity forecasting models
- Automated bank reconciliations
- FX exposure calculation engines
- Hedge accounting automation
- Payment orchestration and approvals
Implement fraud detection and payment controls
Enable role-based access control (RBAC) and segregation of duties (SoD)
Tax Technical Ownership
Architect solutions for:
- Real-time tax calculation (VAT, GST, sales tax)
- E-invoicing (PEPPOL, CFDI, SAF-T)
- Transfer pricing automation
- Tax provisioning (ASC 740)
- Jurisdictional rule engines
Integrate:
- Billing platforms
- Order management systems
- ERP GL & subledgers
Design audit-ready data lineage and traceability
Delivery & Engineering Execution
Write technical PRDs including:
- Sequence diagrams
- API contracts
- Data schemas
- Non-functional requirements (SLA, RTO, RPO)
Lead Architecture reviews, Design sessions, Security assessments
Manage backlog at feature and system level
Drive CI/CD enablement and release automation
Define test strategy:
- Integration testing
- Regression automation
- UAT frameworks
Security, Risk & Compliance
Own:
- SOX controls
- PCI DSS (payments)
- SOC2 compliance
Partner with Security on:
- Key management
- Tokenization
- Encryption (at rest & in transit)
Ensure:
- Data residency compliance
- GDPR readiness
- Audit logging & monitoring
Data & Analytics
Build:
- Treasury data marts
- Tax reporting layers
Enable:
- Self-service analytics
- Executive dashboards
Define:
- Data quality SLAs
- Reconciliation logic
Support:
- Forecast accuracy modeling
- Scenario simulations
Required Technical Skills
10+ years in Product, Systems, or Technical Program roles
Deep hands-on experience with:
- ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
- TMS platforms (Kyriba, GTreasury, FIS)
- Tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, OneSource)
Strong understanding of:
- ISO 20022
- SWIFT MT/MX
- Payment file formats (NACHA, BAI2, CAMT)
Experience designing:
- Microservices architectures
- Event-driven systems
- High-volume financial data pipelines
Working knowledge of:
- SQL
- API testing tools (Postman, Swagger)
- Data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:
- Middleware (MuleSoft /Workato)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Infrastructure-as-code
Background in:
- Accounting
- Treasury operations
- Tax compliance

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$155,000—$304,000 USD
